The Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana (EFG) has opened nominations for the 7th edition of its flagship Ghana Entrepreneur and Corporate Executives Awards & Gala, an annual event to recognise the efforts of outstanding personalities who are making strides in their various fields of business.

The awards seek to reward excellence among committed and dedicated entrepreneurs and corporate executives who are actively supporting the national growth agenda.

This year’s event is being organised in association with Omnibank and has been endorsed by the Ministries of Trade and Industry and Finance.

GECEA 2017 is on the theme: “Promoting Economic Growth through private sector development and corporate governance”.

The deadline for nominations for the most prestigious awards for entrepreneurs and corporate executives is 31st January 2017.

GECEA is a premier event for emerging entrepreneurs, start-ups, established business owners as well as innovative and creative entrepreneurs.

President of the EFG, Sam Ato-Gaisie, said of the event: “This is an initiative that gives recognition to outstanding business personalities for their achievements in business and the immense contributions they make to economic growth.

By this, we are also giving them the morale to take their businesses to the next level of success.”

Some of the award categories include Entrepreneur of the year, Industrialist of the Year, and Woman Entrepreneur, Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

Other actors in the fields of Agri-business, Health and Medical, Pharmaceuticals, Services, Herbal Industry, Homeopathic Services, General Merchant, Household Industry, as well as Oil and Gas will also be recognized.

Others are: Airline Services, Food and Beverage. Automotive, Hospitality Industry, Transport and Logistics, Building and Construction Industry, Rubber and Plastics, Property Management, Real Estate Development Information Communication, Technology, Education, and Commercial Printing Entrepreneur of the year.

Criteria for selection will focus strongly on entrepreneurial spirit, financial performance and growth, vision and innovation, personal integrity and commitment, strategic marketing involvement and corporate social responsibility.

The Corporate Executive Award is a unique and prestigious business awards event that will recognise the individual excellence of senior executives.

Mr. Ato-Gaisie said: “This is one of the most hotly contested events for Ghana’s leading executives, it does not only celebrate a company’s success, but also the exceptional contribution made by the CEOs, managing directors, and senior management who drive the organisation.
