Kwadwo Odame Antwi appointed Acting CEO of GTDC
Kwadwo Odame Antwi, has been appointed as Acting CEO of the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC).
The Ghana Tourist Development Company Limited (G.T.D.C) is a quasi-government agency operating as the commercial wing of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts
He takes over from the Samuel Atta Mills who is credited with having enormous experience in the Industry.
In a letter sighted by the thebftonline.com and singed by the Minister-designate for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Catherine Abelema Afeku, on behalf of the President Akufo-Addo, said his appointment takes effect from today Monday, February 06, 2017.
“The Chief Director of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MOTTCA) who is on copy of this letter is hereby requested to facilitate a smooth handing over process and to assist in setting you into your role,” the letter said.
Prior to his appointment as Acting CEO of the G.T.D.C, Mr. Odame Antwi was one of the persons highly tipped to be appointed as deputy Minister of Tourism.
The G.T.D.C per its vision, exists to provide a congenial and a viable investment environment accessible to both local and foreign development funds.
Such an environment should foster the establishment of commercially successful path-finding tourism investment in the various tourism categories and at each stage of the tourism system, to demonstrate the attractiveness of such investments to private capital funds.
The Company was established in 1972 as a Limited Liability Company to operate as the investment and commercial wing of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts to promote relevant competencies in the management and marketing of tourism projects.
He holds an Executive MBA in Project Management from the University of Ghana and a degree in Marketing Managment from GIMPA.
