Wilson Tei appointed Chairman of IACG
Wilson Tei, a seasoned Life Insurance practitioner has been appointed Chairman of the Insurance Awareness Coordinators Group (IACG).
IACG is an intra-industry body formed in May 2015 to undertake a nationwide educational campaign to sensitize Ghanaians on the importance of insurance to the socioeconomic aspirations of Ghana.
The appointment was announced at the first Insurance Industry Public Lecture and Trade Fair at the University of Ghana Business School, Legon a fortnight ago.
Mr. Tei is an astute life underwriter, and marketer with a consistent record of success in the insurance industry.
He is the former Managing Director of Provident Life Assurance Company Limited. Mr. Tei has done extensive studies in the area of insurance, finance and leadership.
Over the years, his astute insight has chalked him many achievements, including being a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII -UK) and also serving on many boards of firms and parastatals.
He worked with the Zambia State Insurance Corporation in 1978 and played a key role in the preparation of Life Administration Documentations, Management Controls Manual setting up procedures for the Liberian National Insurance Corporation in 1984.
Tei was also the President of the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA) between 1998 and 2005 and a non-executive director of the National Insurance Commission (NIC) and Ghana Education Trust Fund.
He was also a member of the 16-man team that worked on the Financial Sector Strategic Plan (FINSSIPI) for Ghana.
