Emmanuel Antwi -Darkwa appointed caretaker CEO of VRA

Mr. Emmanuel Antwi -Darkwa has been appointed as caretaker Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Volta River Authority (VRA).

His appointment as caretaker CEO, according a circular signed by the Deputy Chief Executive for VRA, Richmond Evans Appiah, takes effect from Monday February 6, 2017 until a Board is appointed and a substantive CEO is approved.

According to the circular citied by the thebftonline.com, ‘It is announced for the information of all staff that His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana has appointed Mr. Emmanuel Antwi-Darkwa as caretaker CEO of the Volta River Authority.’

“All staff are urged to offer Mr. Antwi-Darkwa their utmost support and co-operation in the discharge of his duties,” the circular added.

The caretaker CEO of VRA, Mr. Antwi-Darkwa the thebftonline.com undertands will be coming from the Ministry of Power which has now been merged back to the Energy Ministry. But the thebftonline.com sources within VRA have also revealed that, the caretaker CEO is not new to the VRA and its workings, as he was formally an employee of VRA but was seconded to the Ministry of Power when it was created.

Mr. Antwi-Darkwa takes over from Engineer Kirk Koffi who have headed VRA as the CEO of the company since 2013.
