GCB readies for global presence

Work is underway to enable the GCB Bank Limited expand its physical presence around the globe in a bid to reach wider markets and increase the bank’s prospects, Anselm Ray Sowah, Managing Director, GCB has hinted.

The move he indicated, seeks to help businesses grow, and also to develop the country’s economy.

“At the moment, GCB is repositioning and readying itself to make its physical presence felt worldwide in the near future.

We see the opportunity that this move will bring to business growth and the national economy and development, and we are committed to this strategic initiative”, Mr. Sowah said.

He made this announcement at a ceremony held in Accra, when the bank presented a donation to the PANAFEST Foundation towards the festival’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

PANAFEST is a biennial festival celebrated in the spirit of “re-uniting the African family” by championing Pan Africanism and the African Renaissance.

In his address at the event, the bank’s MD expressed the GCB’s excitement at the festival and the story behind its celebration, which according to him, shared some common traits with the bank’s journey since its inception in 1953.

“The healing process brought about by the celebration of PANAFEST which also celebrates the strength and resilience of the African culture and achievements of Africans are very much appreciated by GCB

This is because GCB as a bank has displayed its resilience over the years having nurtured home-grown businesses into international conglomerates and in its relationship with international banks and financial institutions.”
