Odotobri Rural Bank observes Easter with vulnerable children
Odotobri Rural Bank Limited at Jacobu in the Amansie Central District of Ashanti Region has made various donations of food items to orphans of Adullam Children’s Home located in Obuasi and patients of the children’s ward of St. Peter’s Hospital at Jacobu.
The items worth about ten thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 10,000) were presented to the two institutions at a separated functions when Christians the world over were observing Easter to commemorate the death and resurrection of Christ.
The purpose of the donation according to representatives of the bank was to put smiles at the faces of these underprivileged ones during that festive period.
The items donated to the orphans at Adullam Children’s Home include; six (6) bags of 25kg rice three (3) gallons of 25litre cooking oil, ten (10) crates of Kalyppo, twenty (20) packets of Royal Digestive biscuits and Two (2) packets of 400grams Nestlé Milo.
The rest were four (4) packets of Ideal Milk five (5) boxes of Key bar soap and four (4) packets of Indomie.
The Executive Director of the orphanage Pastor James Sundia and Mr. Clement Amoah, a Nurse who received the items on behalf of the children expressed their profound appreciation to the Bank for that show of affection and love during that festive occasion.
He pleaded with the Board and Management of the Bank to continue with more of such supports to the Home since the Orphanage depends on such supports to run the Home.
At the Children’s Ward of the St Peters Hospital at Jacobu, the Bank donated items amounting to six thousand, five hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢6,500.00): The items include Fifty (50) pieces of bed sheets , assorted detergents , ten (10) crates of Kalypo and twenty (20) packets of Royal Digestive biscuits .
Mr. Francis Barnie-Asenso, the Hospital Administrator, Dr. Kwadwo Adae Aboagye and Dr. Isaac Kofi Kyeremeh Barnor Jnr. who received the items on behalf of the hospital were grateful to the Bank for the numerous supports to the Hospital over the years and urged them to do more for the Hospital.
Mr Ben Asamoah Boateng, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank assured managers of the Home of the Bank’s continuous support. According to him the bank is socially responsible and he and his colleagues on the Board will be prepared to give more of such supports.
The Directors and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank Siaka Baba Ahmed shared some words of encouragement with the children of the orphanage and the Hospital, stressing the need to recognize that their present condition is not permanent and so they are to work towards their aspirations.
They equally expressed gratitude to the care givers at the orphanage and the Hospital for nurturing the young ones for the benefit of society.
